Community engagement plays an important role in building trust, improving safety, and creating strong relationships between residents and the law enforcement. The Ethnic Policing Forum works to strengthen these communities through dialogue, events and training programs that bring communities and Gardaà together to discuss important issues affecting everyday life.
The main objective of the Ethnic Policing Forum is to create a safe and open space where residents can share their concerns and work together with Gardaà to find solutions. Through regular meetings and community events, the forum encourages honest conversations that help build understanding, respect, and cooperation between different groups within the community.
A key part of the forum’s work is supporting minority ethnic and disadvantaged groups. Many people face challenges when trying to participate in civic activities or communicate with local authorities. The Ethnic Policing Forum provides guidance and support to help these groups become more involved in community life, especially in community policing initiatives. By encouraging participation, the forum helps ensure that every voice in the community is heard.
